Honey collection and varieties
Plan Bee’s flagship products are jujube honey and niger flower honey. We also produce sunflower,
mustard, multifloral and three-step flower honey.
Our beekeepers collect honey from across Shan State, Mandalay, and Magway. We produce industrial
and table honey grade honey.
Plan Bee’s jujube honey is collected from August to October in Mandalay, Magway and Sagaing regions. The jujube flower’s nectar has 45% sugar content. The honey is light red with a sweet, floral, and fruity taste, with medium texture and thickness. Jujube honey is believed to have detoxed properties, helping digestion, skin health and metabolism.
Our multifloral honey combines jujube and niger honey. The result is a sweet, intense, and floral taste with medium consistency and thickness. Multifloral honey has the same health benefits of niger and jujube honey, including aiding heart and digestive system, reducing inflammation, and helping metabolism.
Three-step flower honey comes from spiderwort plants that bloom in March and April. The sugar content is 38%. It has a characteristic, dark yellow colour, and bittersweet taste with medium consistency and thickness. Its many health benefits include lowering sugar levels in diabetics.
Our niger honey is collected in October–November in south and north Shan State and Sagaing region. The sugar content is about 29%. Niger honey is an intense yellow and gold colour with a bittersweet floral and smoky taste, and medium consistency and thickness. It is believed to aid heart and digestive systems while reducing toxins and inflammation.
Sunflower honey is collected throughout the year in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, and Bago regions and Shan State. The sugar content in the sunflower’s nectar is 37%. It has a light-yellow colour and a sweet, floral and fruit taste, with medium consistency and thickness. Sunflower honey is believed to have many health benefits, including aiding skin health and respiratory and digestive systems, while reducing cholesterol.
Mustard honey is collected in Kachin, Shan and Sagaing divisions from December to February. The sugar content in Sunflower flower’s nectar is around 43%. It has a light-yellow gold colour with a strong, sweet taste, a floral and fruit aroma, and light consistency. Mustard honey is believed to lower blood pressure and prevent headaches.
Our sesame honey is collected from May to August in Mandalay, Magway and Sagaing regions. The sugar content is 38%. Sesame honey is dark yellow with a sweet taste, and a tendency to remain liquid for a long period of time. Our sesame honey is believed to help skin health, while reducing toxins and inflammation.
